All of our travel jewellery range is made from solid 925 sterling silver and plated with 5 x layers of 18K gold in either yellow, white or rose hues. The added difference is the unique Rhodium Plated layer we use.
What’s Rhodium Plating?
Rhodium plating is like a fancy top coat for your jewellery. It’s a thin layer of rhodium (a super shiny metal from the platinum family) that’s electroplated onto gold to give it that bright, mirror-like finish.
Fun fact: gold is naturally yellow, so even white gold is actually a mix of gold and other white metals. But sometimes, white gold still has a tiny yellowish tint. That’s where rhodium comes in — it adds that crisp, bright white shine we all love.
Bonus: rhodium is tougher than gold, so plating your jewellery with it gives a little extra protection from scratches, tarnishing, and everyday wear. Pretty and practical!
